Hi, I'm Bob and I work as the Foodbank and Volunteer Coordinator.

 

Originally from Derbyshire I moved to Birmingham to study Sociology at University, aside from 6 months in Germany, I have lived in Birmingham since. I've lived in Perry Barr, Edgbaston, Erdington, Harborne, Northfield and West Heath and this has given me a good view of the city and its communities. 

 

I have worked for DWP, retail, the service industry and teaching which has given me a good in site into different lives and situations. I started volunteering at NCP in 2020 before the pandemic and I delivered prescriptions to people isolating during the first lockdown. The opportunity came for me to join to team delivering food parcels and helping in the foodbank. After the Foodbank Coordinator transferred to a new role, I was given to chance to manage the operation in September 2020. 

 

I've wanted to work in the Charity Sector and I'm finally pleased to get to help people in my community using the skills I've gained.
