Before I started working at the Partnership I had been a qualified Community Librarian working for the City Council’s Libraries department.


I had worked on the housebound library service, and at Spring Hill, Balsall Heath and Sparkhill Libraries before I became the Library Manager for Northfield Library in 1993. Due to extensive cuts to local authority budgets I decided to take voluntary redundancy in January 2012 and began working for the Partnership in May 2012.


Apart from the obvious difference of the Partnership not having books to lend out, I feel there are similarities with the work I used to do - ie working with the local community and helping people with their enquiries – so I’m able to use my transferable skills to support people who visit us and use our services at the Partnership.
