Hi, my name is Bev Hardman, and I work for Northfield Community Partnership (NCP), and I’d like to share with you a snapshot of my work as the Over 50’s Project Worker with project, Northfield Neighbourhood Network Scheme (NNS).

My role is to support groups within the community who are providing activities and support for citizens over 50. I also find other activities/services which are available within the local community, identify and fill any gaps, provide training and support, and support with community development, and grant applications. This is helping to support citizens to live more independent lives and promotes overall well-being.
I’ve been working at NCP for 3 years now and I’m extremely fortunate to work for such a great organisation along with like-minded people who continue to provide the various forms of support for citizens living in the Northfield constituency. I also have the greatest of pleasures of working with the amazing team that is NNS!

I’m passionate about community work and helping to develop the support which citizens need to live happy, healthy lives in their own homes and communities. For me, it’s such a tremendous pleasure when I visit groups
and hear citizens sharing with me what a huge difference and positive impact the groups make to their lives by attending the sessions.
I enjoy getting out and about meeting citizens and listening to what’s working well and what is still needed. Developing and building relationships with the local assets, volunteers, and citizens improves partnerships and reduces demand upon Adult Social Care making neighbourhoods more supportive and inclusive places to live.

I support several assets/community groups and a great way of bringing everyone together under one roof is by hosting our Community Lunches which happens bi-monthly. Our community lunches provide both the perfect opportunity and setting for organisations to network, share ideas and they are always well attended!

The community lunches are usually themed based with our NNS work priorities determining what the theme will be. Guest speakers from relevant organisations are invited along to deliver presentations which are packed full of useful information which always well received!
